Symphonic Evangelism – Prayer & Mission as Evangelism

Symphonic Evangelism – Prayer & Mission as Evangelism

The bible reveals a surprisingly interconnect design to evangelism.  It isn’t just those who are missionaries who are called to be invested in the work of spreading the gospel.  God desires the whole church to cooperate; everyone has a mission.

Observations:

  1. Prayer is essential in evangelism
  2. Prayer is our symphonic cooperation in evangelism
  3. Prayer shows dependence on God to open and close doors
  4. Prayer restores strength, courage, and endurance

Conclusions:

  1. Your mission isn’t a person, but a proclamation
  2. Your mission isn’t a result, but a relationship
  3. Your mission isn’t just preparation for the mile, but also for the moment
  4. Your mission isn’t quantity, but quality

Application:

  1. Pray
  2. Ask, “How can I pray for you?”
  3. What would you say if someone asked you, “Why are you a Christian?”

1 Thessalonians 5:17

“Pray without ceasing.”

2 Thessalonians 3:1

“As for other matters, brothers and sisters, pray for us that the message of the Lord may spread rapidly and be honored, just as it was with you.”

Hebrews 13:18-19

“Pray for us. We are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to live honorably in every way. I particularly urge you to pray so that I may be restored to you soon.”

2 Corinthians 9:13

“Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else.”

1 Peter 3:15

“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have.”
