The Resurrection of the Body

The Resurrection of the Body

Have you ever found it difficult to serve our Lord in this world? Take heart, because you are in good company with our Lord. The Word teaches that “friendship with the world is hatred towards God” (James 4:4), and that our true “citizenship is in heaven” (Philippians 2:20).

The hope that we must hold to is this: that when Christ returns, our lowly bodies will be transformed to look like His glorious body! We can therefore remain steadfast and persistent in ministry and service with the every hopeful expectation of the return of our Lord.

Conclusion:
Your resurrected body will be:
1. Bodily vs 38-41
2. Immortal vs 42-44
3. Like Jesus’ vs 49
4. Transformed vs 50-53 “changed” is the Greek Word “to exchange by transformation”
5. At Christ’s return vs 52 “last trumpet”
6. Incapable of sin vs 55-56

Application:
Therefore
1. Stand Firm
2. LET NOTHING MOVE YOU
3. Give yourself fully to the work of the Lord

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
