Our enemy has developed and fine-tuned his strategy of attack to deceive us. His skilled attack has gone unnoticed by too many, and when that happens, we are hoodwinked and captured to carry out his will. Then we end up advancing the plan of the devil rather than glorifying God.
Preliminaries:
The Christian can be influenced by Satan, but not possessed by him. Deception for the Christian will always be temporary. Deception for the non-Christian is imprisonment. Only Jesus can set you free!
Observations: How does the devil lie?
- By pretending to be righteous- Manifest as, comparative virtue
— seems attractive - By preying upon your humanity – Manifest as, selfishness
— seems good - By perverting of the truth – Manifest as, half truth = full lie
— seems right
Conclusions:
- When you lie, you are working for the devil
- When you are deceived, your desires will align with the devil and against the design of God: evil becomes good; wrong becomes right; lies become truth
- Your relationship with the truth will reveal your family lineage

Opponents must be gently instructed, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”

Acts 5:1-11
“Now a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet. Then Peter said, “Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn’t it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn’t the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God.” When Ananias heard this, he fell down and died. And great fear seized all who heard what had happened. Then some young men came forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him. About three hours later his wife came in, not knowing what had happened. Peter asked her, “Tell me, is this the price you and Ananias got for the land?” “Yes,” she said, “that is the price.” Peter said to her, “How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.” At that moment she fell down at his feet and died. Genesis 3:1-6

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12

They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.”

“Make a tree good and its fruit will be good, or make a tree bad and its fruit will be bad, for a tree is recognized by its fruit. You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good?
