Esther – Faith & Faithfulness

Esther – Faith & Faithfulness

God’s plans will come to pass.  It is this great truth that allows us to face the unknown with confidence as we learn to rest our faith in His faithfulness.

Observations: Because God is going to rule, recreate, and resurrect:

  1. He will be glorified with or without you
  2. He will give you the option and opportunity to serve Him
  3. He will look for those who put Him before them

Conclusions:

  1. To follow Jesus in a secular world is going to take risk
  2. To follow Jesus in a secular world is going cost you
  3. To follow Jesus in a secular world is something you can’t do alone

Application: Because God’s plan cannot be thwarted…

  1. Honor Him above everything else
  2. Don’t wait – get on board
  3. Join the team – get on the field

John 3:19-20

“This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed.”

Matthew 5:14-15

“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”

Acts 5:12-18

“The apostles performed many signs and wonders among the people. And all the believers used to meet together in Solomon’s Colonnade. No one else dared join them, even though they were highly regarded by the people. Nevertheless, more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter’s shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed. Then the high priest and all his associates, who were members of the party of the Sadducees, were filled with jealousy. They arrested the apostles and put them in the public jail.”

John 15:18-19

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.”

John 17:20-23

“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me. I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one— I in them and you in me—so that they may be brought to complete unity. Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.”
