The Final Generation: Work

The Final Generation: Work

The design of work has been corrupted by the sin and the fall.  Where originally it gave fulfillment and joy, work has become for many a chore or a punishment to be avoided.  This unfortunate perspective has crept its way into each successive generation, and today the avoidance of work is a symptom characteristic in young people that needs to be addressed within the church.

Proverbs 24:30-34

“I passed by the field of a sluggard, by the vineyard of a man lacking sense, and behold, it was all overgrown with thorns; the ground was covered with nettles, and its stone wall was broken down. Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction. A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest, and poverty will come upon you like a robber, and want like an armed man.”

Colossians 3:23-24

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving.”
