Life with Jesus: Discipleship – The Inerrancy of the Scriptures

The Word of God is the greatest resource given to mankind for our equipping in discipleship.  Yet living in a world of the embarrassment of spiritual riches for the availability of God’s Word, we must ask the question “Are we using the Bible the way God has intended?”

Observations: Matthew 23

  1. Failure of Obedience / Application – 1-4
  2. External Righteousness & Self-righteousness – 5-12
  3. False Teaching – 13-14
  4. Malignant Reproduction – 15
  5. Failure of Understanding (blind) – 16-22
  6. “Religion” – 23-24
  7. External Righteousness – 25-28
  8. Rejection of God’s Message – 29-36

Conclusions:

  1. Read with Spiritual help
  2. Study for understanding on to personal application
  3. Memorize for a life of worship
  4. Meditate and Apply for transformational growth (discipleship)

Application:

  1. Use the scriptures to love God and love your neighbor

Hebrews 4:12-13

“For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account.”
